Just pronounce it “IQ”
We are a proud Canadian owned family company. Founded by Kathleen Desrosiers in 2008 when she invented the first interactive feeder.
Why the name?
We were looking for a way to say “IQ” with our initials while being creative. In French, AïKiou is pronounced “IQ”. So the company was born in 2008.
Why we made the Aikiou?
Our dog was bored and we needed something to keep him occupied during the day.
Prizes and awards
Including Dr Marthy Beckers best in show award, we were named in many publications including the Wall Street journal, The Globe and Mail and many others for our innovations.
Already working with us, Gabrielle and Joany give us their input about what they like. Joany won best product of the year for the rodent products she created about to be released.
Veterinary Technician, founder of Aïkiou
Kathleen started Aïkiou because she tought that our pets need intellectual activity and that using a game instead of a bowl would be more interesting. Since then, she is still working for Aïkiou but she takes care mostly of the Humanimo Foundation which she created to help kids communicate with pets with her books.
Building engineer, President of Aïkiou
I would not know where to start but Kathleen asked me 3 years ago to join her in Aïkiou. Until then, I was working in building automation. I now help to develop the market and new innovative products. I like to work closely with our customers and find new products responding to their needs.
Because we care
Amongst others, we created a new line designed to help raise funds for Mira Foundation who raise dogs for children with autism and blind people.
